Do you remember Arsenio Hall’s late night show? Remember the bit he did… “Things that make you go hmmm???” I loved that bit. I thought it was so funny. Well that is kind of how I feel most of the time in my crafting. LOL… Except it’s more like “Things that make me go … WOWZA” …
I decided it is necessary to have a Wowza Wednesday. The goal… To show you something so simple it makes you go … WOWZA. Yes I experienced that WOWZA moment last weekend at the Luv2Stamp group meeting. Patty Bennett wowed me with taking the simple gift card enclosure and making it into a notecard/candy bar holder. 🙂 See below…. AND BE WOWED!
Here is the video on how to put the box together. I tried to make the video quick. Kind of the idea of the wow…trying not to drag it out LOL.
Tips & Tricks
- The Enclosure: Score the gift card enclosure at 1/2″ from the current score line towards the outside of the flap. When you go to score the third one be sure to fold down one of the ones you’ve already scored. This way you will not end up bending the one flap that has not been scored.
- The Belly Band: Cut your belly band piece at 3″ x 10″. I did not score my belly band. I wanted it to look soft on the edges and not have a score line.
- Step It Up: Step it up a notch by adding sequins on the Peacock tail and some Bakers Twine on the edge. I really love how it turned out.
- Trending: Gold is IN. Everyone is loving gold these days.
Remember I mentioned this idea originated from Patty’s wonderful team meeting I attended. Here is the goodie we made at the meeting. This is a bit of a teaser for you. Holiday Catalog goes live in just 8 short days… If you need a catalog please contact me.

Have you ever heard of Dave Ramsey? No. Well he’s so cool. He is a financial guru and believes in living debt fee and on a real budget. My husband and I really enjoy his teachings. We have not always followed them, because um, we are human. LOL. But we try. Recently I’ve wanted to get back into the habit of some of his ideas. One of his ideas is having envelopes (Dave’s Envelope System) that are marked with Food, Gas, Household Items, Clothes. You put your money in those envelopes each month and then you use that money through the month. When the money is gone it’s gone. This way you aren’t using your debit card for stuff. You apparently spend more when you do that.
I wanted cute envelopes for a our money. So I made these up. Then I thought maybe you’d want a kit. So I am selling kits including the Project Life by Stampin’ UP! pen. You can get the kit for $7 including shipping.

This Fry Box Die is so awesome. It’s super easy to make and you can get two of them out of one 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of paper. I used the Star Framelits to cut the stars out on the front.
